Maui County Spotlights

The purpose of the 2019 and 2020 Legislator Spotlights is to increase transparency in the legislative process and highlight the actions individual lawmakers took on environmental priority bills.

The bills included in the Spotlights were either Sierra Club priorities or controversial bills that obtained votes from both the House and Senate. It is inherently challenging to evaluate legislative actions and these spotlights reflect only actions taken publicly, such as bills legislators introduced, passed or deferred in committee, and the votes taken. Actions on bills were identified as good, neutral, and bad and placed on a color spectrum to simplify each legislator's position on various issues. Beneath the spectrum is a summary of specific actions on bills.

The Legislator Spotlights from 2019 and 2020 are displayed side by side and arranged in alphabetical order.
